Provocation, performance and discussions

This free event is for artists, curators, designers, critics and producers to network, collaborate, learn and explore the alignment between artistic engagement and financial sustainability. From an artist performance to an inspirational speaker followed by small group discussions we will explore the following:

  • How to invest in our practices to generate finance, develop entrepreneurial business models and secure sustainability
  • Building and enhancing our networks to develop collaborations and sustain forward thinking, innovative, contemporary arts practice in rural Dorset
  • Enriching the local cultural infrastructure within a tourist destination

The Cornwall Workshops, CAST and Groundwork in Cornwall that provide professional development opportunities for artists, curators and critics.

You will go away with new connections for collaboration possibilities, awareness of opportunities, a say in influencing what Culture+ can deliver to support rural arts, alternative ways to diversify your income strands as an artist in Dorset.

This event is produced by artist Anna Best, in association with The Arts Development Company and the Architectural Association at Hooke Park with support from Force 8 and the Mothership.



You will need weather appropriate outdoor gear and be willing to walk a short distance for the performance section of the programme. You are welcome to bring a pen and notepaper to take notes. Laptops and iPads are welcome but not essential. There is no fee for attendees but spaces are limited.
