What is it?

This free one-day workshop has a focus on how to sell your work and raise your profile online specifically using Instagram, Pinterest and Etsy.

Who is it for?

If you are an artist, illustrator or designer-maker based in Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole and keen to increase your online profile this workshop is for you.

You will ideally need to have accounts already setup on Instagram, Pinterest and/or Etsy or at least be familiar with the sites.

What you’ll go away with


You will go away with a better understanding of

  • The basics of using Instagram
  • The basics of using Pinterest
  • The basics of using an Etsy shop

A range of tips to consider making the most of each platform so you can increase your following, drive traffic to your website or Etsy shop and hopefully increase sale of your work.

A range of tips to consider to attract the attention of clients and commissioners.

There will also be an interactive part of the day where you will create a social media plan to help your get started with your business growth after the workshop.


About Your Tutors


Octavia Bromell – Tink (thanks to a childhood love of Peter Pan) is an illustrator based in Dorset. Combining analogue and digital techniques, she creates vibrant illustrations of the people and plants that dreams are made of. Octavia has built a successful following on Instagram, Pinterest and Etsy and will be sharing insight into the world of vlogging and selling and raising your profile online.

Octavia will be joined by Culture+ team member Laura Mulhern. Laura has worked in the arts and culture sector in Dorset for over 12 years as an illustration agency director, business and arts marketing consultant and creative mentor.

Having co-founded her own design and illustration agency Storiie, Laura has extensive knowledge in working as a broker between the arts and business communities.

Laptops and iPads are welcome but not essential

If you are a Sole Trader please bring your Unique Tax Reference Number, if you own a registered company/organisation please bring your registration number.

We will be providing lunch and refreshments, please be sure that you let us know your dietary requirements on the Eventbrite Event Registration.

How to book

  • Spaces are limited, only one place available per business.
  • If you book and find that you are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket as soon as possible and at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. This allows us to release the booking to others that are on a waiting list

This Culture+ workshop is specifically for artists and creative practitioners based in Dorset. Culture+ is funded by Arts Council England and the European Regional Development Fund. It is providing support for the creative industry strand of the Dorset Growth Hub programme lead by WSX Enterprise.
