Denman & Gould was established by founders Eleanor Goulding and Russell Denman to support a creative practice in visual art, contemporary craft, furniture and design. Their studio is housed in a beautiful converted church in the Dorset countryside.

Having engaged with Culture+ business focused workshops (business planning and social media) and bespoke 1-2-1 mentoring sessions the business has become more equipped to grow. They also support a small creative woman’s network and hold occasional film screenings, music concerts and talks. All of this is open to the local community and provides many social benefits to those who attend.

After further discussions and developments with Culture+, founder Eleanor and the company have now formed a new social enterprise called ‘Other Side’, which will be a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) and deliver even more exciting events in the north of the county.

To date ‘Other Side’ has really made an impact, recruiting new directors from within the county and holding a range of socially conscious events and culture throughout 2017/18. Their success is due to the hard work of Denman & Gould and the capacity to meet local demand.

The future looks bright as they set their sights on using other venues throughout Dorset to share the amazing arts and culture offer that brings people together, creates discourse and embeds creativity at the heart of everything they do.
