Megan joined the Early Careers group with a BA Hons in Fine Art: Specialism painting & drawing and experience working with several arts professionals and Arts organisations in Dorset over the last 7 years building up a portfolio with specialism in curating and organising visual arts events & exhibitions, working with schools & community groups and engaging people through Visual Art & Performance. At that time Megan was working at Dorchester Arts & Bridport Arts Centre and had spent two years on the Visual Arts South West steering group. She was keen to move into the direction of making challenging and intriguing socially engaged work as a freelancer, progressing her own practice.

Megan participated in The Early Careers Network Programme comprising business skills development, marketing and self-promotion, managing money – budgets, tax, evaluation, impact and diversity, leadership and presentation skills. Megan also participated in the Show & Sell Culture+ programme on behalf of Bridport Arts Centre as well as attending other training events to develop her individual freelance practice.

The Culture+ programme in its entirety has helped shape my next steps and given me confidence as an established Dorset creative
