Brave Bold Drama Care Home Performance, Weymouth

A creative duo of artists provide engaging and entertaining performances to those living with dementia, and a care home in Dorset was recently full of smiles and laughter thanks to their improvised and interactive storytelling show, the Keepers.

The larger-than-life Bea and Bill, two lighthouse keepers, invite care home residents to write ideas on a postcard for new seaside-themed stories. These are then used to create brand new stories live, to the delight of their audience.

Giving the residents agency and control over the activity not only boosts their confidence and independence, but also provides collaborative and relatable entertainment that increases the sense of community in the care home.

Brave Bold Drama received support from the Dorset Performing Arts fund to develop The Keepers.
