The Role of Culture in Tourism
Culture plays a significant role in bringing visitors to Dorset and diversifying the groups that holiday in the county.
Despite the pandemic, in 2021 the total visitor-related spend in Dorset was over 1.3 billion. Over 21.9 million trips were taken and almost 10% of all employment in the county is in tourism. (Source: The Economic Impact of Dorset’s Visitor Economy 2021)
